Blessings of Ayatul Kursi As Narrated In Hadith

“Read Ayatul Kursi, it will protect you, your children, home and even those houses surrounding your house.”

“Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah ‘s Apostle ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing of the foodstuff. I caught him and said, “I will take you to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)!” Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said:) That person said (to me), “(Please don’t take me to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you.) When you go to your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.” (When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard the story) he said (to me), “He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan. [Bukhari]”

“Hadhrat Fatima Zahra (ra) narrates, ” When the time approached for her delivery, then Nabi (saw) ordered Hadhrat Umme Salama (ra) and Hadhrat Zainab (ra) to go to Fatima and recite Ayatul Kursi and “Inna Rabba Kumullaah” (the whole Ayat) and the last two Quls and blow on her.” 

Ayatul Kursi is the loftiest Ayat of the Qur’aan.

It is the chief Ayat of the Qur’aan.

The reader of Ayatul Kursi is protected from the evil effects of the Jinnat from morning until evening and from evening until morning.

It is from the threshold of the Arsh of Allah (Throne of Allah).

Whoever recites it after the Fard Salaat will be protected until the next Salaat and and only death is the barrier between the reader and Jannat inshallah.

The thief does not come near its reciter.

When recited with the last Ayat of Surah Baqarah then the pleasure of the reader will not go unattended.

Who reads it and “Inna Rabba bi kum Allaah..” and the last two Quls for a women on delivery, then the delivery becomes easy for her inshallah.

When one reads it and blows on his possessions and goods, then Shaitaan cannot come near the possessions.

Whosoever reads Ayatul Kursi and the beginning of Surah Ghafir in the morning then he will be protected and be safe from the morning until the evening and vice versa.

This is the most common question among people who want to start doing wazifas and wazaifs for their different wishes and problems.  Are there any restrictions/precautions for doing wazifa? Are there different types of wazifas like jalali or jamali? In this post, we will try to answer all the questions concerning the practice of doing wazifas.

Purity of Heart and Intention:

Your intention for doing the wazifa should be pure and legal. For wazifas to work, you need to focus on your inner self and your intention should be for constructive results rather than destructive. Doing astaghfar constantly cleanse our soul and heart.  Without doing this, it becomes impossible to achieve the results through any wazifa.

Keep Clean and Sinless:

Cleanliness makes half of our emaan (faith) and rightly so. It is important to keep yourself clean both physically and spiritually. Avoid watching movies, series, staring at women or men with wrong intentions. The less you sins you are into, the more chances of doing wazifas successfully become.  Though, human beings are fallible and vulnerable to sins, but through practice we can minimize it. Doing Wazifas for Legal/Islamic Needs Only:

Keep in mind that wazifas should only done for legit purposes that do not violate any Islamic law or teaching. Doing wazifas to harm somebody or take advantage will not work and in most of the cases backfire on the doer of wazifas.

Direct your focus On Allah:

While doing wazifa, our only focus should be on the attributes of Allah and we should only seek help of Allah (SWT). Any wazaifs that involve supplications to any other entity than Allah will not work. It will be of more harm than benefit. Since Allah does not like any association with Him. Imagine that Allah is with watching you and helping you while doing wazifa.

Avoid Shirkiya Wazaif:

There are numerous wazaif books and articles that preach the use of non-Godly powers such that of asking Jinns or moakils for help. This is an utter nonsense and will only lead us astray. No jinn or moakil can assist. It is Allah who rules the world in a real-time manner. At all costs, avoid such wazaifs for the repercussions and harm will be bigger than you can imagine at the moment.

The Myth of Jalali/Jamali Wazaifs:

Many people ask if there are different types of wazaifs as various people have spread this myth so profoundly that we take it to be true. Remember, there is no Jalali/jamali wazaifs. It’s your intention that does the work. While doing wazifa, there is an intention-charged energy and it should always be done for positive/constructive ends. Before answering the question in detail, we first need to know what waziaf, wazifas mean and its modus operandi.

Wazifa Meaning:

In Urdu dictionary, wazifa means salary or remuneration while the term we are discussing in this post refers to the spiritual practice of meditation and having your wishes granted by the Almighty Allah . Wazifa is way of repeating certain ayats, kalimas, or words when in need of something beyond our control.

Islamic Ruling:

There is no existence of wazifas if go by Quran and Hadith strictly. The practice of doing this meditation using Islamic and Quranic words began long after the advent of Islam. In the time of our beloved Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), these practices did not exist. However, going by simple Islamic rule, wazifa can be done if it doesn’t transgress the core commandments of Allah and Quranic, Islamic values.

When Doing Wazifa is not Allowed?

Doing wazifas and wazaifs that violate the set boundaries of  Islam are absolutely disallowed and cannot be encouraged. For example, any wazifa that has an element of Shirk(polytheism) is strictly forbidden. In common terms, shirk can be defined as associating partners with Allah or His attributes. Wazaifs in which one seeks help of any entity other than Allah are not allowed. Strict adherence to Tauheed is required. While doing wazifas, we repeat certain words with belief that our desired outcome will follow.

Final Word on Doing Wazifa:

People should take extra caution when starting any wazifa for major two things: First, it is the purity of intention. Secondly, leaving faith and trust in Allah for He is the Only solver of our problems. The wazifas that teach you how to get moakils/jinns to assist should be rejected. "And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah . And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew." (1: 102)
