With the emergence of Mustafa Kamal, who split the party with the announcement of his own party, that will operate on pure political lines. Ummat, the daily Urdu publication in Pakistan, was the first to publish this rumor on its today's edition. However, the rumor mill ended quickly when Altaf came on telephone and addressed his loyal workers at 90. 

Altaf Hussain blasted the people involved in spreading the rumors of his death. The news was fake and he sounds like he is in good health. The women party workers also bashed Mustafa Kamal indirectly alleging that these guys have betrayed the founder of MQM and wont find support among the Karachites and Urdu speaking people. As usual, Altaf showed no restraint in bashing his opponents who are willing to see him eliminated form the political scene of the country.
