MQM has decided to deal with Mustafal Kamal's move with a more pragmatic approach.
It is claimed by some of the mainstream Urdu news media outlets that MQM is considering introducing a new leadership for the party as Rabita Committee thinks now is the right time to bring a new face -- a face that is acceptable and that can maintain the party's hold in Karachi.
Mustafa Kamal, who served as the mayor of the Karachi city, took the entire news media by storm as he announced to form his own political faction and the centre of his activities will be Karachi -- a city that has seen Altaf Hussain hold the whip hand for the past thirty years. The news doesn't surprise me because I think this was going to happen and this is what had to be. We know Mustafa Kamal is an acceptable option for most of the people in Karachi, but he may not be able to challenge a well-organized MQM in its strongholds.
