The Mauka Mauka Guys are at it again. They have come up with another advert that questions the Pakistan chances into reaching quarterfinals. After the win over South Africa, the chances for Pakistan to reach the quarters were bright. We just have another hurdle. An easy victory over Ireland will cement our place through the next stage.
So far, South Africa and India are already in the next round. If Ireland beat Pakistan by a wide margin then Pakistan will fly back home. It is hard to expect from a weak side like Ireland but their performances in the tournament show promise.
What if they pull off the upset, it will certainly be the biggest in the cricket history. Plus, we Pakistanis should not forget that Ireland have a good record against us as they beat us in the 2007 tournament.
It was one of the most unfortunate campaigns of the world. The time for fireworks has not yet arrived of course and Pakistan need a win against Ireland to reach the next round where we will probably meet Australia.
There are various comparisons that people are drawing with the glorious 1992 world cup. We had lost against West Indies and India but moved on to win the finale against mighty England. This time around, English are already back home though.
I am hoping the boys will gear up for the next game and give a sigh of relief to this Star Sports Mauka Mauka series Pakistani fan. Rest assured my Pakistani fan, you will have your moments:).
