Misbah-ul-Haq finally gave vent to his anger that he was perhaps keeping in heart for a long time. He particularly targeted the Sikandar Bakht and other senior ex cricketers who also played with the skipper in time. It is very unfortunate that all blame for defeats in the world cup lie with Misbah and wrongly so.
He rightly pointed out the he is responsible for the dismal batting, bowling and fielding performance in the world cup 2015. Misbah was actually giving way to his frustration and he ended the conversation that his critics should now distribute sweets to celebrate his exit.
It is very unfortunate and I am particularly perturbed at the statement. He has been legendary captain and the best middle order batsman of recent times. But we as a nation are in the habit of dumping the true talent and celebrating the mediocre.
Shoaib Akhtar was particularly anti-Misbah as he bashed his captaincy skills and even questioned his batting techniques. Misbah was right in saying what these senior players did at the world cups in 2003 and 2007 and who is responsible for the first round exit.
The team at 2015 world cup performed better than the previous ones at 2003 and 2007 and in my opinion, Misbah needed a heroic exit from the ODI cricket which he clearly did not get. What a disappointing end to a cricket genius who was always consistent and helpful to the team's cause with the bat and leadership skills.
I don't think we will be able to watch as talented cricketer as Msibah in the next decade.
