What's happening in the private parties right here in Pakistan is pretty much alarming. We have been bemoaning the spread of vulgarity in the tv channels' morning shows but it seems vulgarity is finding space in the common household and becoming pretty much a common sight. It should be a cause for concern for people. The Pakistani culture and Islam have different ideas though and value system but the majority of Pakistanis are losing that sense of integrity.
Is it the wedding ceremony or a mujra as locally known here in Pakistan. We seriously need to differentiate from a family setting wedding and publicly paid-for mujra where women dance for the spectating men. Unfortunately, the rich and resourceful class in our society can afford these expensive weddings and private parities but at the expense of religious and cultural values. It is very disturbing to say the least.
