MQM Saulat Mirza to be hanged on March 19, Anti-terrorist Court orders

Jailed MQM activist Saulat Mirza will be hanged on 19 March, Karachi anti-terrorist court has issued his black warrant.

The growing friction in Karachi politics is a big concern as the city came to a standstill after Rangers raided MQM headquarter Nine Zero at Aziz Abad.

Altaf Hussain: No place for terrorists and killers in MQM

MQM chief Altaf Hussain said in his telephonic speech that if there were any criminals near Nine Zero, they should have gone to some other hiding places. "Nine Zero faced trouble due to these criminals." Altaf Hussain says.

Pakistan Rangers conducted a surprise raid at MQM headquarter Nine Zero Wednesday morning and arrested people allegedly involved in target killing and other criminal activities.


MQM condemned the raid, calling Rangers' move an illegal act. Rangers, however, stood its ground and defended its stance on the raid. Altaf Hussain spoke to his workers soon after the raid and demanded an inquiry into Rangers' raid, asking why a political party's office was stormed.

Pakistani Rangers raided MQM headquarters Nine Zero Wednesday morning and arrested dozens of people who were allegedly involved in terrorists acts. There has been a lot of talk over what kind of weapon was recovered at Nine Zero. MQM workers protested Rangers raid at their headquarters and demanded that all the people arrested be freed sooner than later. However, Rangers had its own version to tell to the media and government. Speaking to a press conference right after the raid, Colonel Tahir told the media that all those arrested were charged with serious crimes and the raid was conducted with the consent of all political parties. MQM cheif Altaf Hussain spoke to his followers from London and slammed the Rangers' move, saying if MQM was involved in terrorism, it would not shelter criminals at a well-known place like Nine Zero. Dismissing claims of weapons recovered at Nine Zero, Altaf Hussain said if MQM had stashed weapons there, there would have been confrontation and the whole media showed that the raid was conducted peacefully.
