ARY News Khara Sach: Mubasshir Luqman on MQM

Mubashir Luqman of ARY New has come up with yet another attention-grabbing videotape, but this one has been circulated widely across social media already. The video is a short clip that shows confessional statement of Ajmal Pahari, a convicted killer affiliated with MQM. Ajmal Pahari has made several confessions in the video, telling the law enforcers how he was involved in the targeted killing of political workers and even government employees.
I am surprised how Mubashir has changed so quickly. A few months ago, the ARY senior anchor was speaking in favour of Altaf Hussain. Things apparently have changed in the political scene and old friends are now new enemies. Anyway, the videotape is shocking and it has put MQM to shame once again because it talks about some workers given shelter in India and army training to return to Pakistan and carry out terrorist activities.

Most of the videos that the electronic media is displaying these days are not new and they have been shared widely across social media. Ajmal Pahari's confessional video emerged about four years ago and the agencies allowed a limited number of news publications to show his confessions. But MQM had been totally unfazed despite a series of confessional videos of its arrested party workers.

It looks like MQM will have to get rid of the arrested killers and it has done so in the past.

Asif Zardari's new decision following Karachi Operation

Asif Zardari has decided to leave the country in an attempt to deal with NRO issue that is hanging over many of his cadres and himself. Asif Ali Zardari is leading his PPP(Pakistan Peoples Party) as Chairman. Sources say that the political situation is Sindh is going through a shift and Asif Zardari might have sensed unfavourable circumstances coming up ahead in the near future.
Pakistan Peoples Party is going through its worst crisis as after facing a severe blow in Punjab, it is fighting for its survival in its stronghold Sindh.

Some sources have said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also has been trying to keep Zardari's team at bay and he did not even visit Pakistan for attending ZA Bhutto's death anniversary.

PPP has been working in alliance with MQM in Sindh government and it is facing a new rival that is about to sweep urban Sindh at least. PTI (Pakistan Tehreek e Isnaaf) has been gaining ground steadily and the last elections saw it get surprisingly good votes, something that has worried Asif Zardari and MQM.

As for cases written off under the pretext of NRO (National Reconciliation Order), several members of PPP are worried and they have advised the Chairman to leave the country. I think the current situation of Karachi and Rangers' operation against criminals also increased Zardari's woes.

Leader of Lyari gang-war Uzair Baloch also has been making waves since raid at MQM headquarters Nine Zero as he has made some big allegations against Zardari Sahab and Zulfiqar Mirza on a TV channel. Uzair Baloch said he was forced to carry out terrorist activities at the behest of Asif Ali Zardari and then interior minister Zulfiqar Mirza.
