Great Pakistani Cricketers Who Were Involved In Match Fixing

Match fixing has plagued the entire game of cricket and Pakistan is the worst hit. We lost three crucial and valuable players to match fixing in the form of Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt. All these three admitted to spot fixing and met their fate. To me, it literally dented the Pakistani cricket beyond measure. 

The story does not stop here. There have been accusations of match fixing on the players in the past. The 1999 world cup final versus Australia also looked fixed given the performance our star players like Saeed Anwar, Wasim Akram and Moin Khan put in. It was a total flop and seemingly a deliberate one. 

Kamran Shahid came up with a list of 'great players' of Pakistan who were fined for involvement in match fixing. The list has some great names like Wasim Akram, Salim Malik, Inzamam, Saeed Anwar.

But other than the trio headed by Salman Butt was never really called into question. If these great players were punished brutally on time, maybe we would not be seeing the recurring cases of match fixing in the cricket. It is time to cleanse match fixers from the squad. They are already well-paid but corruption is deeper than we can ever think. 

Which Cricketer Offered Imran Khan 15 Crore Rupees?

Horse trading is rampant in Pakistani politics and it has been here to stay. The recent senate elections have also proved its very importance in the politics. Every party is allegedly involved in seeking money for senate seats. How can a senator who has been elected on the base of wealth can deliver by bringing legislation much needed for the nation? 

Of course, he will first ensure the break even on the investment he has made. The surprising news just came out today that Shahid Afridi allegedly offered Imran Khan 15 crore Pakistani Rupees for a senate seat.

Imran Khan had also revealed it himself in the press conference without disclosing the name of the person. The offer from Afridi was that he would donate 15 crore to Shaukat Khanum hospital if PTI gives him a senate seat. 

There are so much wrong in our country that it is hard to determine what measures can ensure corruption-free Pakistan. Horse trading is a form of corruption.
