Wasim Akram Still Unplayable After 10 Years

It has been more than a decade since Wasim Akram retired from the international cricket but he has not yet forgotten his trade. He is still the master of swing and showed his skills again in nets against English former captain and batsman Nasir Hussain. He was bowling English master class batsman and was as good as he was during in his playing days.

Nasir Hussain was finding it hard to play the in-swing deliveries of Wasim Akram. The video has three deliveries that Wasim Akram bowled. One was absolutely unplayable, the second was similar while Hussain left the third one.

This just goes to show why Wasim Akram enjoys the status of being the legendary bowler. After the practice session (for entertainment only), Nasir admitted that Wasim was the best bowler he ever faced. Brian Lara also rates Wasim Akram as the best fast bowler.

Nasir rightly pointed that it was hard to play Wasim on the flat pitches of Pakistan, let alone bowling supportive wickets in England and Australia. Pakistan has always been rich in fast bowling talent. We churned out the likes of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Aamir. Sadly, we lost Amir as the true replacement of Wasim Akram to spot fixing. Hopefully, we will find equally talented bowler. To date, Wasim Akram is the best fast swing bowler to have graced the cricket field.  Wasim Akram will still be a nightmare for batsmen. Wasim Akram did not end his career on a good note though as is the tradition in Pakistan cricket. We don't tend to bid farewell to our heroes.
