Is This A Wrong Number?

The concept of wrong number has gained popularity after it was propagated throughout the film PK--a blockbuster film that questioned the buyers and sellers of faith. The wrong number idea can be seen coming into play in different societies and cultures.

Indian and Pakistani cultures are too similar despite the evident religious and historical differences but both the societies are replete with misnomers of religious nature. Both the countries have always fallen prey to the shrewd sellers of faith.

There is no shortage of stories telling how Peers and Faqeers loot the common people in the garb of spirituality. The same is the case in India where people are stupidly spending their money in mandirs.

Look at this video. Molana Ilyas is a renowned figure in Pakistan who is preaching Islam through TV for long. He conducts programs on daily basis and enjoy a vast fan base that usually come off lower-middle classes of the society.

While it is hard to question the sincerity of his followers, the intent of Molana's actions remain vague. He every now and then does things that baffle the rational and progressive mindsets in the country.

Watch how Molana Ilyas Qadri falls unconscious for a brief period of time. Is this all for public consumption? Is he really preaching the true message of Islam? We cannot pass judgement. Perhaps it is another form of a wrong number.
